This parish is sometimes spelt 'Alestry'. It is situated six miles north east of

Tamworth adjacent to the Leicestershire border. The church spire was made

in the thirteenth century.

Bird in Hand Public House...

The village's only pub is one of the few thatched public houses in the Borough.

A medieval plinth stands opposite, said to be the meeting place for those

seeking work in times gone by, in 1897 a cross was added to the plinth to

commemorate the Diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria.

The walk links several of North Warwickshire's most picturesque villages.
